Ask yourself, how are you and your background different than everyone out there. If the difference is you are not, then you may have a problem. Look for opportunities to differentiate yourself. Here are a few ways that might help you stand out. 1. Get a professional certification - Example: Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean & Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, etc. 2. Attend seminars and workshops 3. Get your graduate degree Here are just a few examples. The bottom line is, how do you stand out against the others in competition for the same position. If you have a certain industry or type of job your interested in find out ways to get some exposure in those areas that also compliment and add to your professional credentials.
