{#/pub/images/AdventuresofanExpat.jpg}When you take an overseas assignment, or manage someone in that position, understanding basic needs is an important step that must be taken before you, or they, can advance to finding fulfillment and success in the new role.

Debbie Nicol, our International Management Expert Panelist, explains Maslow's theory of basic needs as it relates to an Expat's journey.  In her article 'Adventures of an Expat: Defining Basic Needs', Debbie shares her own Expat experience, as well as the concept of Physiological Needs, Safety/Security, Social Belonging & Self Esteem.

What experiences have you had as an Expat?  We can learn from eachother's experiences, as well as understand from a management level, what an employee is going through and the support that is needed to make the journey successful.
