Decisions are not always black and white in the business world. Politics can play a role in decision-making leading to questions of logic and motivation. Be aware of the political environment; understanding that you will never know everything that is going on. People, and/or different departments may be competing for funding, competing for promotions. Be true to yourself and be aware, without being discouraged by the lack of cohesiveness. This is normal and has its benefits, just as the military was set up for a reason, so is the political corporate structure. Different does not mean wrong as uncomfortable as the transition may be.
