Officers have a four year degree and substantial leadership and management experience. Many get their graduate degrees either in the military or soon after leaving. They typically take on professional careers which include opportunities for management and leadership. Enlisted may or may not have an associates or bachelors degree. Depending on their function in the military they may have deep knowledge and skills in highly technical fields (mechanical, electrical, communications, etc). They transition nicely into functional roles in the private sector. It is also worth noting that as enlisted become promoted they take on more of the leadership and management roles as a Non-Commissioned Officer. Here you have someone with an in depth technical knowledge, most likely a degree and leadership and management experience.
