First Time Manager or Supervisor Community

First time managers and first time supervisors have a difficult, but exciting challenge ahead of them. Transitioning from being an individual contributor to overseeing the contributions of others is a great responsibility, as well as a rewarding one. Often the transition is tough because you may be the new boss of your old co-workers and friends, you may not have had much, if any, training on supervision and you may not get a lot of direction from your company on how to take on your new role. Developing your relationship as manager or supervisor is not easy to do, nor is delegating workload when you are used to doing things yourself. Everyone who manages this transition in their career deals with the same issues. This forum provides a helpful vehicle for support discussions, facilitated learning and useful resources for the first time manager or supervisor.
