The experience of most Junior Military Officers is quite significant compared to equivalent positions in the private sector. The military gives tremendous responsibility very early in the career which gives Junior Military Officers a level of strategic and operational exposure which isn't replicated in the private sector. They have most likely had direct supervision of teams ranging from 30 - 250 people depending on the role and type of unit. This includes safety, planning, reporting, operational responsibility and organizational readiness: maintenance, training, etc. Junior Military Officers typically bring an ability to think strategically, understand their importance in the larger goal, work hard and have tremendous leadership skills.
