Why You Need YOUR Brand{#/pub/images/BeYourselfEveryoneElseIsTaken.jpg}

Tell your boss, employees and customers about how you think and behave, your unique Strengths and your preferences, and you will see your brand build and your brand loyalty grow.

Business guru Tom Peters is credited with popularizing the idea of being your own brand 15 years ago. "We are CEOs of our own companies,” he wrote. "To be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the "Brand Called You."

Believe it or not you are not defined by your job title or current daily activities and they should not confine you. It is not your skills and experiences, although they contribute. "A Brand Called YOU" is the sum of your natural Strengths, locked into your genes and brain from early on. It is the way you think, feel, and process information and approach situations. It is how you see and interact with the world. These attributes generally do not change over time, and always can be depended upon, by you and others.*

"Apple" is a brand. When you buy an Apple product you expect a level of innovation and excitement, the highest quality and cutting-edge design. We create an emotional connection with Apple, many of us are loyal, we know what to expect and Apple delivers.

To achieve your goals you need to stand out, differentiate yourself. You are creating a brand whether you like it or not, so why not create the best one for you??Start today, create "Your Brand" and here are some starting tips:

  • Decide who you want to be
  • Decide what you want to achieve
  • Find ways to build your self-awareness: do assessments, get feedback
  • Let friends, employees, your boss and customers know your Strengths & your thinking so they understand what they can expect from you and how best to use you.
  • Use communications to put your "Brand" out there
  • Get support that can help you develop and hold you accountable to your goals ?“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” - George Bernard Shaw ?Go create your best you before someone else does.
