Is there a best practice for speaking to superiors? For example, should I never say what’s on my mind to my manager? Should speaking to managers include as less information as possible? I am a manager and have struggled with my communication. I always wind up saying too much or giving too much information to my superior and it makes me look incompetent at times. Is less better? Do I stick with a main point? How can I structure my presentation of information? Is there a format I need to apply? Above all, what is the best way of getting my point across without using unnecessary information?
