Listen to your customers, find out what they like about your products and what they don’t like; find out the same about your competitor’s products.  Do research in the target customer group: what needs do they have that are not getting met?  Look back at previous product ideas over past years, they may be relevant today or better marketed today.  Innovation is sparked by data analysis so the more data you gather from a large audience, the more ideas you will generate.
