Katie is a communication professional with nine years’ experience across a wide range of sales and marketing disciplines. She is a writer engaged in social media, digital marketing and online journalism.

Katie holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communication from New York University, for which she spent a year researching luxury brands and social media communication in order to write her capstone/thesis: “Drawing Virtual Boundaries Around Luxury Brands: A framework for luxury brand and social media communication.” Katie represented the NYU PRCC at the PRSA Digital Conference in 2011. As an executive member of NYU’s PR League, she helped create and launch the organization’s social media program and managed the alumni mentor program, increasing participation levels by over 50 percent.

Katie is a sales and marketing professional with over eight years’ experience in residential real estate and design. As a representative for Ryan Homes, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, Katie made impressive contributions to sales volume in challenging market conditions ($35 million in three years). Her success led to early promotion & industry recognition, including Sales Rookie of the Year for the state of Delaware.

Katie is also a freelance writer and consultant working with small businesses on personal branding, digital media, marketing, and communication strategy. She enjoys sharing her research and experience with others and recently spoke about brand and social media communication at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Region 2 Conference (NAHJ) in NYC and Temple’s Fox School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.

Katie holds a B.A. in Communications Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University as well as a minor in Business and Liberal Arts and Kinesiology. She is a contributing member of several professional organizations including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and Philly Ad Club.

Katie does not sway left or right minded, both meticulous and creative, a technology and branding enthusiast eagerly tracking the intersection of social media and public and consumer relations.
